I was paired up with Jerry Thorson for the hunt. Made a few stands in a wash and no response's to our calls. Jerry would start out hand calling and when he got tired and out of breath I would start up my new to me Fox pro with a Jact-In-the Box.
Made a few other stands as we worked our way thru the dirt roads. Made a stand in a somewhat open area and had the calls going. I was setting back in under a low hanging tree and saw a reflection on the inside of my sun glasses. Turned my head slowly to my right and there standing about 10 feet behind me and to the right was a yote just steiring at me. As I saw him and he saw me move he took off never to be seen again. He did what any good yote would do and got down wind for us and snuck in from behind to see what is going on. Always keep your eyes in the back of your head open, you never know who will be there.
We had this yote come in at NOON, which really suprised Jerry. So guys, they can come any time of day!
At another stand up in the rocky hills, we had a fox come in. The area was full of bushes and he made good use of them. Probibly saw us or something he did not like and snuck out the back way.
All in all had a great day and learned a lot. Can"t wait to go again.
Always looking to team up with someone to learn more. If some one wouldn't mide taking a novice with them, please contact me. I WANT TO LEARN! !
