Preserving a coyote tail

This morning I stripped the tail off of the coyote we harvested. I placed it into a bag with flea powder.

What do I need to do to keep it from having any issues with rotting or spoiling? Do I need to treat in some way now? For the meantime, I've got it in the freezer.

You need to get a tail stripper and splitter. You need to debone the tail and open it up so you can clean off any fat found on the inside of the skin. That fat is what turns your fur/tail bad.
