The fur trade show is just around the corner.
I have never attempted to sell any fur during this event and would like to gets some tips on what to do and what not to do?
I have several bobcats and a couple of fox that I need to get ready and then what. How do I go about selling them at the fur trade show?

Wow, not many responses.......
I will tell you what I learned, Being that it was my first time. I thought the two cats I brought looked great (at least to me) they had white bellies with big black spots. Once I was able to compare my lower desert cats to some of the other norther California cats they did not have the same sex appeal as did the 21 prime bobcats from the norther parts of California that were in the lot right before mine.
Lesson #1 Don't be the guy with the lot of deserts cats right after the best lot in the auction of northern cats. You can really see the difference in the thickness and plushness of the norther cats which brought in $600.00 each.
Lesson #2 Its called a Nevada Stretch, Make sure you use this style to make your fur look its best. Ears and paws forward and back legs together makes the belly seem longer really shows off the spots.
Lesson #3 Borax dry bath and fluff with shop vac to really show off the fur.
It was a long day and it was cool to learn the back end of our sport. next year will I will be better prepared and have better looking fur.

You need to purchase Mercer Lawings DVD Top Dollar cats. He shows you how to put up your fur to maximize your return.
You also need to pass on shooting bobcats in October to November. The fur is not prime and its a waste of your money. Self control is the name of the game.
